To support its ongoing expansion, North London’s Cworkshop – specialists in cut-and-edge services for small- and medium-sized furniture and interior businesses – has recently invested in four HOMAG SAWTEQ S-300 panel saws, two EDGETEQ S-380 edgebanders, along with two XES 200 glue pot pre-heating stations
Founded in 2010 by two cabinetmakers, Cworkshop has built a reputation as a fast, reliable manufacturing partner for small- to medium-sized firms. “Our customers are often one- or two-man bands,” explains Antony Didjurgis, Founding Partner at Cworkshop. “They don’t have the space, equipment or workforce to cut boards themselves – especially in London, where space and labour are so expensive. We provide a hub where customers can get their boards cut, drilled, CNC’d and edgebanded quickly, with a turnaround time that couldn’t be achieved on their own.”
To deliver this service, Cworkshop continually invests in advanced, high-performance machinery that can guarantee speed, reliability and top-quality results.
The latest investment
With rising demand, new machinery became essential. “We’ve opened new branches,” says Antony, “and those needed to be filled with machinery. We knew we’d need four beam saws and two edgebanders with glue pot pre-heating stations, but the question was: which supplier could we trust to give us the best return on such a large investment?”
Cworkshop already had more than a decade of experience with HOMAG, as Antony explains: “Our oldest beam saw is 11-years-old and still runs beautifully. We did a market check, just to see what else was out there, but nothing compared with HOMAG.
“The machines themselves are first-class, but what really stands out are the interfaces – they’re so easy to use and fully loaded with everything the operator needs. HOMAG may not be the cheapest, but when you look at the full picture, the value is obvious.”

The sweet spot in automation
The decision was made following a visit to HOMAG’s Castle Donington showroom, where Sales Manager Ian Woodall demonstrated various configurations. “When I look at machinery, I want the sweet spot between too much and too little automation,” Antony says. “Too much automation and the operator loses focus; too little and fatigue sets in. HOMAG strikes that balance perfectly, with flexible options and smart quality-of-life upgrades.”
Improved workflow & product quality
For Cworkshop, the biggest gain has been consistency, as Antony explains: “We now run multiple HOMAG machines, and because the interfaces are thesame, they work together seamlessly. “That saves us countless headaches and massively boosts productivity.”
Another huge benefit is the improvement in overall quality: “The accuracy is exceptional,” Antony comments, “meaning that settings can be fine-tuned to the smallest degree. Much is automated, but with a skilled operator, the results are flawless.”
Interestingly, Cworkshop opted for smaller edgebanders this time round, and in Antony’s opinion, “edgebanders keep getting bigger and more expensive. The HOMAG S-380 gives us the same high-quality results as the larger machines, just a little slower, but with a much smaller footprint and lower cost. Overall, it’s incredibly versatile.”

A strong partnership
Cworkshop’s long-standing relationship with HOMAG continues to play a key role: “The team are always friendly and professional. Installations can be complex, but HOMAG handles them brilliantly. A special thanks goes to Simon Beasley, who oversaw our latest installations and was fantastic from start to finish.”
Looking ahead
Cworkshop’s expansion is far from over, however, as Antony tells us: “We’re investing for the future and HOMAG will be our first choice. This latest investment was exactly what we needed to keep moving forward – HOMAG has been instrumental in our growth journey.”
