LIGNA 2027 shows strong industry commitment with more than 80% of space already booked

More than a year ahead of LIGNA 2027, the world’s leading trade fair for the woodworking and wood processing industry is reporting an excellent booking situation.

Over 80% of exhibition space has already been allocated and all leading companies in the sector have registered their participation across all exhibition areas. This underscores the woodworking community’s unwavering commitment to its flagship fair, despite the continued strain of the global economic climate.

“The clear and widespread commitment from companies demonstrates that LIGNA remains the premier platform for international market players,” says Stephanie Wagner, Head of LIGNA at Deutsche Messe AG. “15 months ahead of LIGNA 2027, more than 80% of exhibition space – measured against the final total of LIGNA 2025 – is already booked. Two thirds of exhibitors have also pre-registered for the trade fair,” she adds.

Among the industry leaders confirmed for LIGNA 2027 are major players such as Felder Group, HOMAG, Weinig, Biesse, SCM, Leitz, Leuco, Dieffenbacher, Siempelkamp, Sennebogen, Liebherr, Barberan, Cefla, Robert Bürkle, Ledinek, Linck, Microtec, Festool, Mafell, Hundegger, among many others.

“These companies represent the entire woodworking community,” Wagner continues. “Their participation strengthens Germany as a trade fair location, brings the international woodworking industry to Hanover every two years, and jointly reinforces the ambition behind the label ‘Global Industry Gathering’.

"LIGNA’s strong booking status shows that exhibitors continue to view the trade fair as a key international platform to demonstrate expertise, innovation, strength and global visibility – particularly in a challenging economic environment.

"The impressive registration figures also highlight how relevant LIGNA’s objectives currently are for companies, whether in terms of technological progress, new market requirements or the need for international exchange at decision-maker level. In times of widespread market pressure, exhibitors see LIGNA as a stable anchor point.”

Dr Bernhard Dirr, Managing Director of the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association, highlights the opportunities arising from a rapidly changing global economy. “Global uncertainty and economic shifts – however challenging – also present opportunities for our industry. Production sites are being relocated more frequently than in the past, while investment pressure driven by societal trends continues to rise.

"Many planned investments have been postponed for some time, yet progress is clearly visible in areas that may not immediately come to mind, such as recycling technologies and measurement technology.

“From 10–14 May 2027, LIGNA will once again serve as the central marketplace for the industry, providing much-needed orientation. With its new dates and without a national public holiday, the show will fully live up to its outstanding role as an innovation fair.

"Modern woodworking thrives on innovation and much of it emerges at LIGNA, simply because it’s most visible here. Exhibitors are keen to harness this effect.”
