When Paddington Construction ceased trading, BPI Auctions was appointed to manage the sale of its extensive woodworking and metalworking machinery – achieving a total hammer price of over £200,000.

Renowned for manufacturing high-quality, steel-framed bathroom pods for both commercial and residential developments, Paddington Construction had grown steadily over its 15-year history. The company had recently expanded into a purpose-built facility in North London to meet increasing demand and offer clients a hands-on, off-site construction solution.

Having followed BPI’s sales and marketing activity over time, the client reached out after recognising BPI’s strong track record in construction and manufacturing disposals. They were seeking a trusted partner to manage the process end-to-end with minimal disruption. After evaluating several providers, BPI was selected for its sector expertise, transparent approach and proven ability to deliver results.

To maximise asset value, two separate auctions were held. The first focused on woodworking and joinery machinery, featuring high-spec equipment such as a 2022 Weinig Cube Plus 4-head planer moulder, a 2019 Weinig Powermat 700 CNC planer moulder and a 2023 Anderson Genesis Evo 510 CNC router. The second sale included metalworking and fabrication assets, with highlights such as a 2023 Bodor P3015 fibre laser cutter, Durma CNC press brakes, guillotines and MIG welding equipment.

Together, the auctions attracted over 140 registered bidders from across the UK and beyond, drawing strong interest from joinery firms, fit-out specialists and fabrication companies. The combined results highlighted the effectiveness of targeted, sector-focused marketing.

BPI provided a full-service solution, including asset appraisal, cataloguing, cleaning and preparation, marketing, viewings, collection coordination, machinery moving and final site clearance. The entire process – from initial instruction to final clearance – was completed within just seven weeks.

Adrian White of Paddington Construction commented: “I can confirm that BPI’s service is very effective, quick and user-friendly, achieving a very quick turnaround.”

Nathan Burnham, Associate Director at BPI, added: “Paddington Construction had invested in modern, high-spec machinery and the response to both auctions reflected that. We were pleased to deliver two smooth, transparent sales that allowed the business to close with confidence while recovering strong asset value.”

These sales demonstrate BPI’s ability to support businesses across the construction, joinery, and fabrication sectors, offering flexible, end-to-end asset disposal solutions that unlock value and simplify even the most complex transitions.
