Dust extraction manufacturer, Dust Control Environmental (DCE), recently celebrated a major production milestone as its 1,000th dust extractor rolled out of the factory

Established 15 years ago by owner and Managing Director Martin Gill, DCE began life in a small office and garage space in Morley, West Yorkshire, where the very first prototype dust extraction unit was developed. As the business grew and prototypes evolved into market-ready products, it soon became clear that the UK lacked sufficient high-quality manufacturers in this sector.
To ensure reliability and long-term sustainability, DCE decided to bring key elements of its manufacturing process in-house, which prompted a move to larger premises.
In December 2015, DCE relocated to its current 14,000sq.ft facility in Wakefield. This move enabled vital production processes – such as powder coating – to be completed on-site. The result was improved manufacturing timescales, enhanced product quality and a more cost-effective, environmentally friendly operation.
The new space also allowed the company to grow its skilled workforce, expanding from an original team of five to a current staff of 28. This steady expansion reflects DCE’s deepening expertise across design, engineering, installation and customer service, solidifying the company’s reputation as a trusted name in the dust and fume extraction industry.
Fast forward to present day and we see DCE celebrating its 1,000th dust extractor – an Envirojet W-Series unit. This model exemplifies the company’s continued product development and commitment to delivering energy-efficient systems without compromising performance. It’s a perfect fit for modern industries focused on reducing operational costs and achieving environmental goals.
Commenting on this achievement, Managing Director Martin Gill, said: “We have a fantastic, skilled and knowledgeable team at DCE who work hard together to make milestones like this possible. It’s a very proud moment – and here’s to the next thousand!”
