Exhibitors praised high-quality leads, live demonstrations and expert discussions as organisers confirm the show’s return to The NEC, Birmingham in June 2027

Professional Woodworking Expo (PWE) 2026, held at The NEC, Birmingham from 23–25 June, received highly positive feedback from across the industry. Attendees praised the exhibition for the quality of its leads, with many exhibitors noting that focused conversations with industry peers and experts proved more valuable than simply attracting large crowds.

Event organisers said: “After three days at the NEC last week, one thing was clear: the woodworking and joinery sector needed a dedicated event like this. From live machinery in action and hands-on demonstrations to impressive stands, product sourcing, expert insight and valuable trade conversations, the show brought together the people shaping the future of woodworking, joinery and manufacturing.”

Key event highlights

  • Co-location with InstallerSHOW – PWE 2026 was co-located with InstallerSHOW and the Painting & Decorating Show, giving visitors a comprehensive view of the project supply chain, from timber processing through to the final interior finish.

  • Live demonstration zones – A major attraction throughout the three-day event was the interactive Live Demo Zone, where visitors had hands-on access to a range of machinery, including CNC machines, planer/thicknessers and Striebig panel saws.

  • Industry insight and seminars – The Joinery Network hosted a programme of well-attended, expert-led seminars and panel discussions covering the future of joinery manufacturing, apprenticeships and the latest woodworking innovations, including the new Paslode Combi Xi nail gun.

In terms of feedback from the exhibitors, representatives from the Dutch Joinery Alliance commented: “A big thank you to everyone who visited the DJA stand. It was a pleasure to officially introduce our alliance, meet so many joinery professionals, exchange ideas and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of our industry.

“The positive feedback and inspiring conversations confirmed exactly why we joined forces: by combining the expertise of six Dutch specialists, we can offer joinery manufacturers smarter, more efficient and more sustainable solutions. A special thank you to everyone who took the time to visit our stand. We truly enjoyed meeting you and look forward to continuing the conversations in the weeks ahead.”

The VWM Woodworking team added: “We had a fantastic few days, with plenty of conversations around manufacturing, innovation, automation and the practical steps businesses can take to improve efficiency and stay competitive.”
