How 21 Degrees simplified complex window specifications with integrate

When your projects are complex, consistent planning, processes and communication make all the difference.

Successful window and door businesses balance technical expertise with clear communication for both customers and team members. Get this right, and customers gain confidence in the process, helping you build a reputation for quality service and delivery.

For Luke Gilman, Manager of the Windows and Doors Department at 21 Degrees, that balance is achieved with EndtoEnd’s integrate software. Known for its FSC-certified timber windows, triple glazing and strong environmental ethos, 21 Degrees delivers products that meet the most demanding performance standards.

But with technical complexity comes a challenge: how do you present detailed specifications in a way that every stakeholder can understand?

We spoke with Luke about why 21 Degrees chose integrate, how it is supporting the company’s growth, and what’s next for the business.

Tell us about your business. What makes 21 Degrees special?

We specialise in high-performance triple-glazed windows, taking on a wide range of project types, from straightforward replacements to deep retrofits and contemporary new builds.

Everything we do at 21 Degrees is centred around precision, performance and sustainability. We use FSC-certified timber in our windows and combine it with triple glazing as standard. The result is a window system that performs as beautifully as it looks.

We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built. Our products are frequently chosen for projects where performance standards are uncompromising, such as Passivhaus and Enerphit developments. By combining cutting-edge technology with responsibly sourced materials, we help create buildings that are comfortable, efficient and built for the future. We find that customers remain loyal to us because they know we will never compromise on our standards or values.

What made you look for a software solution?

With more than 25 years of experience supplying windows and doors, we’ve used our fair share of quoting software. None of it fully met our needs.

We needed a system capable of handling the detailed technical specifications of our products while presenting that information in a clear, client-friendly format. Too often, window companies rely on European quoting platforms that fail to translate complex specifications into something accessible for all stakeholders.

The right software should bridge the gap between technical precision and usability. Beyond accuracy, which is essential, it’s about communication and making the complex easy to understand.

Like us, you’ll appreciate reviews that begin with, “From start to finish…” At the heart of those reviews is quality communication.

Had you heard of EndtoEnd IT Ltd or integrate before?

Yes. EndtoEnd and Gareth O’Brien are well known because they came from within the industry. We also spoke to another window company that was already using integrate, and they were very positive about the software.

Did you have any concerns before starting?

Yes. Because our windows are highly specialised, we were concerned that integrate might not be flexible enough to include all the information we required within our quotation documents. Our technical demands were always going to be high.

What were you hoping new software could offer your business?

We were looking for the same things most window and door companies need: a user-friendly system with excellent output, but also the capacity to evolve alongside our business and product ranges.

Why did you choose integrate?

We had some excellent meetings with Gareth and Alex, and it quickly became clear that integrate could do everything we wanted. In fact, it could do much more, and continues to do so.

Alex led much of the early implementation work and was excellent throughout. We’ve also received fantastic support from Liam and Josh. Most importantly, they understood the window and door industry, which made the decision an easy one.

How has it been going since you started using integrate?

It’s been great. Over the last six months, we’ve refined our output based on both internal and external feedback. That’s the difference. You can’t do that with rigid, off-the-shelf systems. My team enjoys using the software, and our clients love the new quotation layout.

Have there been any challenges? How did you overcome them?

One challenge was ensuring the right information appeared in exactly the right format for our business. However, the support team at EndtoEnd has been excellent. They listen, understand the issue and always come back with a solution.

That’s the advantage of software designed specifically for our industry.

What’s the best thing about integrate so far?

It’s incredibly simple for our team to learn and use.

Any unexpected benefits from using integrate?

We had high expectations, but integrate has exceeded them. In particular, we value the flexibility of the platform and the continuous development happening behind the scenes. When we request something new, there’s a good chance it’s already in development. That demonstrates the benefit of software built specifically for your industry.

What’s your advice for others in the window and door industry looking for new software?

Don’t sign up anywhere else before speaking with Gareth and his team. They’re experts in the sector, and you’ll come away with a much clearer understanding of what will genuinely help your business.

What’s next for 21 Degrees?

We’re in the early stages of launching an external blind range to help combat the increasing risk of overheating in modern homes.

It’s an exciting development and reflects our commitment to continually improving both our products and services. Watch this space.

From Gareth O’Brien, Director at EndtoEnd

Working with Luke and the 21 Degrees team has been a great experience. This project came with some genuine technical challenges, particularly around bringing together installation spreadsheets containing multiple tabs and information that didn’t naturally align.

Projects like this demonstrate both the flexibility of integrate and the expertise of Alex and the wider team. Together, they created a solution that works seamlessly for 21 Degrees. Best of all, the users genuinely enjoy working with it day to day.

It’s great to hear that 21 Degrees has found integrate to be the software it was looking for. Their success shows how the right software can make even the most technical products easier for customers to understand.

I often use the phrase “complex made simple” because clear, practical communication is such an important part of success in the window and door industry.
