The Makita HG001GZ02 40VMax XGT® Heat Gun is a powerful cordless tool, designed for professional tradespeople who need reliable performance without the restriction of cables. Part of Makita’s advanced XGT® 40V platform, it delivers temperatures of up to 600ºC and airflow rates of up to 200 L/min, making it ideal for a range of demanding applications.

Supplied as a body-only unit with a Makpac carry case, the heat gun is ideal for use in workshops and on construction sites, offering excellent efficiency and maximum temperatures equivalent to AC models, but with all the freedom of cordless operation. Thanks to its increased voltage compared with previous models, the tool is suitable for applications such as hot welding waterproof sheets and shrinking sheaths for thick cables with a diameter of ≥25 mm.

Additionally, the tool features advanced control technology to keep temperature and airflow steady, automatically adjusting for fluctuations in battery voltage. It also has a digital LCD and control dial, allowing users to adjust the temperature and airflow to suit their requirements, while storing the last-used settings so tasks can be resumed with ease. The LCD displays settings in numerical values (ºC/ºF), as well as battery status, airflow level and error messages, and includes maximum temperature control for safer operation.

Compatible with the nozzles used on existing Makita DC and AC models, the heat gun offers maximum versatility. It is also equipped with a quick-release mechanism that allows users to remove nozzles without coming into contact with the hot parts of the machine. It also features a single LED light to illuminate the work area, a soft rubberised handle for added comfort and a convenient hanging hook for easy storage when not in use.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita, commented: “The new heat gun offers power, precision and freedom to professionals looking for an efficient solution for thermal applications. The tool also comes with a versatile storage solution, keeping it well protected and easy to transport, ensuring operators are ready for any task.”

Also ideal for joiners and carpenters, the heat gun is suitable for applications including paint and varnish removal, edge banding, softening adhesives and speeding up drying times for fillers and finishes, alongside a wide range of general construction tasks.
