Makita has expanded its high-performance cordless tool lineup with the launch of the new DBN900 18V LXT framing nailer. This innovative tool delivers significant advantages over traditional pneumatic and gas nailers, offering enhanced ease of use, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.

The DBN900 18V LXT framing nailer is purpose-built for first-fix framing applications. It provides all the power and functionality of a pneumatic nailer, but without the complications of compressors and air lines. Unlike gas nailers, the DBN900 eliminates the need for additional consumables like gas cartridges, reducing both costs and inconvenience.

The latest addition to Makita’s cordless nailer range is compatible with clipped head nails between 50mm and 90mm and gauges from 2.9mm to 3.3mm. Its magazine holds up to 58 collated nails and features a quick, simple reloading mechanism. An inspection window allows users to easily check the remaining nail supply, while a variable drive depth can be adjusted effortlessly using the nose-mounted dial.

The DBN900 also offers two operation modes for added versatility: Sequential Actuation Mode – drives a single nail with each press of the trigger – and Contact Actuation Mode, which enables continuous nailing, driving nails as the nose tip makes contact with the material while the trigger is held. Powered by Makita’s 6.0Ah LXT battery (BL1860B), the DBN900 drives up to 1,000 nails on a full charge, with a speed of up to two nails per second.

Designed with convenience and safety in mind, the DBN900 features an anti-slip nose for improved accuracy on angled materials, and an LED job light with pre-glow and after-glow functions for better visibility. It is equipped with both a rafter hook and a belt hook, allowing for secure storage on ladders, scaffolding, timbers, or directly on the user. Safety features include an anti-dry-firing mechanism to prevent missed nails and an anti-restart function to eliminate accidental activation.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita UK, said: “Our new, long-awaited DBN900 18V LXT Framing Nailer is an excellent alternative to conventional pneumatic or gas nailers. It has been carefully engineered to streamline framing tasks and other first-fix work. The DBN900 is simple to operate, even in restricted spaces, and offers far greater flexibility compared to traditional pneumatic tools.”
