Makita has expanded its cordless lighting range with the 40VMax XGT® ML013G and 18V LXT® DML819 Magnetic Work Lights. Featuring powerful magnets that allow them to be securely attached to metal surfaces, these lights provide exceptional flexibility for instant, hands-free illumination when carrying out maintenance work on construction machinery and heavy equipment

Designed to enhance visibility, productivity and jobsite flexibility, both models combine robust construction with advanced LED technology.

The versatile cordless work lights each deliver a maximum luminous flux of 1,200 lumens, providing excellent visibility for maintenance tasks and demanding worksite environments.

Designed to maximise efficiency, the lights offer impressive runtimes depending on the battery capacity used. When paired with a 4.0Ah 40VMax battery, the ML013G provides up to 12 hours of runtime on the high setting, 18 hours on medium and 29 hours on low. Alternatively, when used with a 6.0Ah 18V battery, the DML819 delivers up to 9 hours of continuous operation on high, 14 hours on medium and 22 hours on low. Both lights provide a low-battery warning, indicated by a reduction in illuminance.

Both Makita work lights are equipped with an LED head featuring a diffusing lens that softens the light output, reduces glare and provides broad illumination. The LED head rotates 300° horizontally (90° to the right and 210° to the left) and 180° vertically, making the lights highly practical and adaptable for use in awkward or confined work areas. When not in use, the head can be folded down, automatically switching off the light and reducing its overall size for improved portability and convenience.

The new work lights join Makita’s DML817, a compact LED light featuring three lighting modes and a memory function that allows users to resume work using their previous settings. Designed for a variety of applications, the DML817 can be used as both a stationary light and a portable hanging light. It also includes a USB output port, enabling it to double as a portable power bank.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita UK, commented: “These new work light additions deliver powerful illumination, impressive runtimes and outstanding versatility. They also offer ultimate convenience, as they can be moved easily around the workspace, helping users stay productive, safe and efficient from the start of a job through to completion.”
