Mirka® adds new DEXOS 1217 M AFC dust extractor to its growing range

Mirka® UK continues to build on its growing portfolio of extractors, and most recently, added the new DEXOS 1217 M AFC model, which is designed to eliminate workplace dust. This M class extractor blends power and versatility to ensure users have a dust-free work environment when it comes to a variety of jobs, from flooring projects to paint removal and restoration work.

Powerful & versatile 

The Mirka® DEXOS 1217 M AFC is powered by a 1,200W brushless electric motor, designed by the R&D team, which makes it durable while ensuring that dust is quickly and efficiently extracted. As well as being powerful, the new extractor is versatile owing to its ability to handle both wet and dry applications in addition to being compatible with multiple tool types. It also comes with two sockets, both of which benefit from auto start capabilities. This feature ensures the dust extraction system activates simultaneously with the power tool, which means that any dust and debris is captured by the extractor as soon as the tool’s in use.

To ensure the DEXOS can work for long periods without a break, it has automatic filter cleaning capabilities, which ensures consistent suction from first use to last. In addition, there’s an integrated airflow sensor that provides users with real-time feedback on performance via the MyMirka app, which raises awareness of any deviations made from the tool’s optimal flow rates.

Innovative features 

The extractor’s ergonomic design makes it easy to handle and manoeuvre around job sites and the built-in storage space accommodates a 4m hose. It’s also compatible with the Mirka® case and toolbox as well as existing Mirka® hoses, so that users have everything required in one place. In addition, the DEXOS 1217 M AFC boasts an easy-to-clean construction, thus guaranteeing hassle-free maintenance as and when required. 

The Bluetooth-enabled remote control straps around the dust hose and senses tool vibration

One of the DEXOS’ innovative features is the Bluetooth-enabled remote control – sold separately – which is strapped around the dust hose and senses tool vibrations to start the extractor. It offers the user two operating modes: auto sense and manual. The remote control has a Bluetooth range of up to 20m, which eliminates the need for a pneumatic box. 

Optimal performance 

Thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity, the extractor can easily be connected to the MyMirka app. From here, the user can access numerous insights from air flow indication to a running time display, as well as a hot PCB alarm. These insights allow comprehensive tool monitoring, so the unit can perform at an optimal level as well as raising awareness of any issues.
