Stronger, more integrated offering

HOMAG has long been a leader in woodworking machinery, delivering end-to-end solutions across the entire production process. Recognising the importance of focusing resources on its core areas of innovation, HOMAG made the strategic decision to discontinue in-house production of wide-belt sanding machines, instead collaborating with Heesemann – a company with a rich heritage in sanding technology.

Simon Brooks, Managing Director at HOMAG UK, explains: “Our goal is always to offer our customers the best possible solutions. Partnering with Heesemann helps us to ensure they continue to have access to a high-performance sanding portfolio, which integrates seamlessly with the rest of their production processes.”

This partnership allows HOMAG to maintain its complete process chain offering while benefitting from Heesemann’s deep expertise. In turn, Heesemann has expanded its product portfolio, developing new entry-level sanding solutions while continuing to provide advanced, high-end systems. Together, the companies also collaborate closely on sales and service, ensuring customers worldwide enjoy a smooth and efficient experience.

Advanced sanding solutions for every need

Heesemann’s wide-belt sanding machines are renowned for delivering precision surfaces across a wide range of applications, from solid wood and wood-based materials to veneer and lacquered finishes. Their machines support essential processes such as calibration, fine sanding, brush sanding and intermediate lacquer sanding, with innovative features designed for both efficiency and accuracy.

With sanding widths of 1,100mm, 1,350mm and 1,650mm – and the capability to process workpieces from 3mm to 200mm thick – Heesemann machines are suitable for businesses of all sizes. Advanced sanding units, including cross sanding, edge sanding and 3D sanding technologies, make them the go-to choice for furniture manufacturers, joiners and large-scale industrial operations.

“What’s exciting about this partnership is that it enhances our ability to support customers at every level – whether they need an entry-level sander or a high-end automated system,” Simon adds. “It’s about providing the right machine for the right application and ensuring it integrates perfectly within their wider production setup.”

Ongoing service & support

For existing HOMAG customers, service and support remain a top priority. HOMAG continues to provide full after-sales care – including hotline support, on-site service and spare parts – for sanding machines previously supplied under the BÜTFERING and HOMAG brands. Moving forward, HOMAG will also support the service and maintenance of all sanding machines supplied under the partnership, ensuring customers continue to benefit from expert assistance backed by HOMAG’s extensive service network.

This partnership is set to flourish for years to come, ensuring businesses have access to the very best sanding solutions – supported by the combined expertise of two industry leaders.
