3M, a global leader in professional products for tradespeople, has launched an extensive range of new personal protective equipment (PPE) across Screwfix branches nationwide

Covering hearing, respiratory and eye protection, the expanded range is now available in around 1,000 Screwfix branches. It is designed to improve both safety and comfort for tradespeople, with features intended to make the working day easier.

As part of the launch, 3M has run a national roadshow, visiting Screwfix branches to train teams on the benefits of the new products. The training covered how the products help tradespeople protect themselves without compromising comfort, communication or productivity. Customers were also invited to visit branches during the roadshow, where they could access product discounts and enter competitions to win product bundles worth up to £500.

The new range includes WorkTunes™ Connect, wireless headphones that protect hearing from hazardous noise while allowing users to stream music, podcasts and audiobooks via Bluetooth from a smartphone or other mobile device. 3M’s new Pro-Protect Earmuffs feature active microphones to help on-site teams communicate clearly, even in noisy environments.

The new Aura™ Comfort Cool Flow™ Particulate Respirator is designed for tradespeople carrying out tasks such as repairing walls, ceilings, floors and roofs, offering protection against high levels of fine dust and oil- or water-based mists.

For eye protection, 3M’s new Scotchgard™ Protector Anti-Fog Safety Goggles feature improved air circulation to help reduce fogging, alongside a curved lens for a wide field of vision. The Scotchgard™ Protector Safety Glasses offer a modern, slim-framed design and a removable foam gasket to help limit eye exposure to nuisance dust and flying debris.

Gemma Brown, Key Account Manager at 3M, said: “For PPE to be effective, it needs to be something people are willing to wear all day. That means looking beyond protection alone and considering how products fit into the realities of working on site, where comfort and practicality can make all the difference.

“Tradespeople should also be able to access quality PPE as easily as they can the tools and materials they rely on every day. Our partnership with Screwfix is an important step towards making that happen, combining our expertise in protection with the reach of one of the UK’s best-known trade retailers.

“We’re pleased to be supporting Screwfix’s ambitions to become the leading destination for PPE, while helping more tradespeople make informed choices about their personal protection.”

The new 3M range is available in Screwfix branches nationwide and online; see www.screwfix.com for more information.
