Consistent, repeatable edge sanding with Mirka’s new Edge Guide

Mirka UK is expanding its accessories range with the introduction of the new Mirka® Edge Guide for its DEROS® II 125mm and 150mm sanders. This new accessory has been developed to deliver consistent and repeatable edge sanding results across a wide range of applications, including furniture manufacturing and joinery, edge detailing, painting and varnishing preparation in addition to precision sanding on large panels.

As one of the most demanding surface preparation tasks, edge finishing requires consistent pressure and a steady tool angle over a sustained period to achieve high-quality results. The Mirka® Edge Guide is designed to allow the sander to glide smoothly from one end of the workpiece to the other. Easy to use and fully adjustable, the guide enables users to set angles from 45 to 90°, ensuring accurate and reproducible results across a variety of surfaces. Its fully supported design also minimises the risk of tilting or uneven sanding, helping to reduce costly rework.

User comfort was a key focus during development, with the ergonomic design allowing the accessory to be used comfortably over extended periods. The tool-free mounting system enables quick attachment and removal, reducing downtime as there's no need to switch tools when moving between sanding tasks.

To protect finished surfaces, the guide is fitted with a felt pad at the contact point. This helps prevent accidental marks or scratches that could occur during sanding.
