From Workshop to industry: Wood-Mizer’s new equipment for 2025

Wood-Mizer, a global leader in sawmilling and woodworking equipment, recently unveiled an exciting range of innovations for 2025, designed to meet the needs of both industrial professionals and passionate hobbyists. The new line-up was successfully showcased at the LIGNA trade fair in Hannover and during the Customer Meeting at the company’s European headquarters in Koło, Poland.

A new era of industrial sawing

At the forefront of the 2025 line-up is the WM5500 industrial sawmill, paired with the MR250 double-arbor multirip saw. The WM5500 now features a 120mm Stellite blade, 45kW motor, compressed air system for blade lubrication, a debarker and board removal arm. Combined with the MR250 – capable of holding up to 32 circular blades on two shafts – these machines form a sawmilling line that increases efficiency while reducing labour and material waste.

“We’re delivering the automation and scalability customers have asked for,” says Adam Kubiak, Industrial Sales Manager. “The WM5500 replaces the WB2000 with higher flexibility and performance in a modular format.”

Also new is the WM2500 industrial sawmill, introduced alongside the EG350 edger. Previously successful in North America, the WM2500 now launches in Europe, offering a heavy-duty yet cost-effective solution. The EG350 combines edging and multirip functionality, streamlining production for mid-sized businesses.

“The WM2500 industrial sawmill bridges the gap between the LT70 HD and WM4000,” adds Luke Murray, Global Director of Wood-Mizer Systems.

Accessible solutions for hobbyists

For hobbyists and small operations, Wood-Mizer has introduced the LX30 – its most compact and affordable sawmill yet. Designed for simplicity and mechanical reliability, the LX30 is perfect for occasional users, farmers, or woodworking novices. “It’s ideal for personal projects, offering a simple and cost-effective entry into sawmilling,” explains Sales Manager, Hubert Powietrzyński.

MP410: High-performance woodworking

Also new for 2025 is the MP410 four-sided planer/moulder, designed to meet the demands of industrial woodworking. Capable of processing timber up to 410mm wide and 230mm high, the MP410 includes powered feed rollers, a cast iron table, four cutterheads, and 7in touchscreen control panel. According to Technical Support Engineer, Adrian Bugała, the machine drew major attention at LIGNA, especially from industrial users.
