Makita launches impressive new XGT orbital sander

Makita has expanded its range of high-powered sanders with the launch of a new 40VMax XGT BO007CG orbital sander. Designed for comfort and easy manoeuvrability, it allows trade professionals to achieve high-quality results with optimum accuracy.

Featuring a 93 x 185mm pad, sanding flat surfaces, edges and corners can be carried out with ease and precision. The tool’s lightweight design and optimised weight balance help users achieve even sanding without the need for additional force. Combined with an ergonomically designed handle, the BO007CG is comfortable to use for extended periods.

The sander features hook-and-loop pads for quick and easy grit changes, which minimises workflow interruptions and providing greater flexibility. A pad saver protects the backing pad, which can be easily replaced when necessary. The battery is connected via a wire and can be looped onto a belt or pocket, making it ideal for working at height or when handling larger materials.

The BO007CG also comes equipped with Makita’s innovative Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) technology, which connects the sander to compatible dust extractors via Bluetooth, automatically activating the extractor when the tool is in use. An on-tool dust bag is available for less demanding applications or when greater freedom of movement is required. However, Makita always recommends using sanders with a professional dust extractor.

Offering a 2mm orbit, variable speed control – between 6,000 and 12,000rpm – is conveniently located towards the tool's rear. Users can select the required speed for each task, while constant speed control ensures consistent performance. The orbital sander also features smooth start-ups and an anti-restart function for enhanced safety. Finally, the brushless motor design reduces friction, delivering more power, performance and runtime while eliminating the need to replace brushes.
