Mirka showcases smarter sanding solutions at Professional Woodworking Expo

Surface preparation has never been easier, smarter, cleaner or more efficient than with Mirka UK Ltd’s cutting-edge tools, abrasives and extractor systems, which are transforming the finishing process.
On stand E72 at the upcoming Professional Woodworking Expo, Mirka UK will showcase its latest innovations and run live demonstrations throughout the show, allowing attendees to see first-hand the tools’ performance benefits.
Mirka® DEROS II & DEOS II
The tools on show and available for demonstration include the highly versatile Mirka® DEROS II and DEOS II, both featuring upgraded electric motors that deliver up to 20% more power. These enhancements ensure the sanders make light work of demanding jobs and heavy applications.
Mirka® DEROS Rotary Sander (RS) 600
Also on display is the powerful Mirka® DEROS Rotary Sander (RS) 600, which blends power and precision within a user-centric design. Powered by a robust 750W brushless motor, it efficiently sands a wide variety of materials and applications while minimising vibration and noise. In addition, when used with its integrated suction system, it helps to create a dust-free workspace by effectively capturing dust. Suction is distributed around the backing pad to ensure optimal performance beyond hole alignment, further reducing health risks.
Mirka® DEXOS 1230 M Class AFC dust extractor
Complementing the sanders, Mirka will showcase its extractor range, including the Mirka® DEXOS 1230 M Class AFC dust extractor. Powered by a 1,200W brushless motor, it removes dust quickly and efficiently from surfaces. The R&D team has also prioritised versatility, enabling the extractor to handle both wet and dry applications while remaining compatible with multiple tool types, thus helping to reduce downtime between tasks.
Abranet® Ace
Mirka will also exhibit Abranet® Ace, a premium net abrasive featuring ceramic grains that deliver a faster, more aggressive cut. Its robust grain impregnation extends product life, reduces sanding defects and minimises grain breakage. An improved backing enhances disc grip and edge wear, making it more effective and longer lasting.
Ultimax® & Ultimax® Black
Alongside Abranet® Ace, Mirka’s technical experts will highlight Ultimax® and Ultimax® Black. Ultimax® features Mirka’s patented Selective Coating™ technology – a production process that incorporates optimised micro-cavities within the abrasive material to prevent clogging. This extends product lifespan and reduces material usage per job.
The next generation in the range, Ultimax® Black is a wide belt designed for sanding hard materials and hardwood surfaces while reducing material waste. It combines a thick, high-quality backing paper with silicon carbide grain and patented selective coating technology. This ensures strong, stable performance without breaking, folding or twisting, even at coarser grits.
