The Young Furniture Makers exhibition has been renamed the New Furniture Makers exhibition for 2025, marking a significant evolution in its mission to embrace a broader and more inclusive community of designers.

Organised by The Furniture Makers’ Company – the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry – the exhibition has a proud legacy of championing emerging talent. While it’s traditionally focused on younger designers, the refreshed name reflects the diversity of today’s participants, from students and recent graduates to individuals embarking on second careers in furniture design.
The updated identity will debut at the 2025 exhibition, which will take place on Wednesday 29 October at Furniture Makers’ Hall and The Dutch Church at Austin Friars, London.
The New Furniture Makers exhibition provides an invaluable platform for aspiring furniture designers to showcase their work to leading industry professionals, potential employers and fellow creatives. Exhibitors benefit from enhanced visibility, constructive feedback and opportunities to build lasting connections within the sector.
An event highlight is the presentation of awards recognising excellence across multiple disciplines; these include the Bespoke Award, Design Award, Textiles Award and Apprentice Award, which celebrate innovation, craftsmanship and the creative integration of materials in furniture making.

Jonny Westbrooke, CEO of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “We believe the name change to the New Furniture Makers exhibition more accurately reflects the ambition of the event – to serve not only as a launchpad for young people entering the industry, but also for those who have made a career change and are pursuing their passion for furniture design.”
The New Furniture Makers exhibition is made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors and partners who share a commitment to nurturing talent and driving innovation across the furniture industry.
