Five talented carpenters and joiners have beaten off stiff competition to secure coveted semi-final places in Screwfix’s search for the UK’s Top Tradesperson, now in its 16th year.
The semi-final stage will see Ben Ingersent from Somerton, Conrad Healy from Barnet, Gavin Tutton from Kenilworth, Jason Pittiglio from Dunstable, and William Hobbs from Uckfield compete against more than 30 other tradespeople, presenting their skills and stories to a judging panel from Screwfix.
Ben Ingersent – Infinite Interiors

Ben, 39, who runs Infinite Interiors, has worked as a joiner for 22 years. Since the early days of his apprenticeship, he’s been committed to perfecting his skills and sharing his knowledge with the next generation of joiners. His favourite part of the job is working closely with customers, turning their vision into reality, and taking pride in knowing his craftsmanship will last for generations.
Conrad Healy – Bluewood Handyman

Conrad, 51, owner of Bluewood Handyman, has more than 30 years’ experience as a carpenter and joiner. He thrives on the variety of work and enjoys applying problem-solving skills to every project – not only fixing but also improving and extending the life of each piece. Conrad also teaches 16-19-year-olds at West Herts College, helping students build the skills needed for a successful career in the trade.
Gavin Tutton – Tutton Carpentry

Gavin, 40, who owns Gavin Tutton Carpentry, has worked in the trade for 21 years. Always eager to learn new skills and take on fresh challenges, he prides himself on going above and beyond for his customers. Gavin finds the greatest satisfaction in their reactions once a project is complete. With his wealth of experience, he now hopes to inspire others and showcase the rewards of a career in carpentry.
Jason Pittiglio – Pitt Precision Ltd

Jason, 34, who runs Pitt Precision Ltd, has 18 years of joinery experience. He loves that each day brings new challenges and opportunities to create work that adds genuine value to people’s lives. Jason also finds mentoring the next generation one of the most fulfilling aspects of the trade, sharing his knowledge and experience with apprentices.
William Hobbs – Joinery Boys Limited

William, 33, Director of Joinery Boys Limited, has also worked as a joiner for 18 years. Recognised with numerous awards for his craftsmanship and industry contributions, William grew up immersed in the trade, learning from his father. Now, he’s passionate about mentoring young joiners and passing on his expertise to ensure the future of the profession.
The semi-finalists will be narrowed down to just 10 finalists, who’ll then advance to the national final at Screwfix Live in September.
At the event, after being put through their paces by a panel of industry experts, one winner will be crowned Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2025 and take home a £20,000/€20,000 trade bundle of tools, tech and training.
A chance to join the hall of fame
This year’s champion will join previous winners in the Screwfix Hall of Fame, including current Top Tradesperson Mohammed Rahman, a plumber, and 2023 winner, Astrid Arnold.
Jack Wallace, Marketing Director at Screwfix, said: “Now in its 16th year, our search for the UK and Ireland’s Top Tradesperson continues to highlight the exceptional talent within the trade industry. This year’s entries have been truly inspiring, and I wish all semi-finalists the best of luck as they compete for this year’s title.”
